With her topically designed concert programs (eg. “Happy Birthday Franz Liszt”, “Sonatas and Folklore”) the young German pianist is a welcome guest at many concert venues and festivals in Germany, Europe and Asia.
Lydia started her life as a pianist at the age of four. Born in 1981 in Bavaria/Germany into a familiy with musical background, she was tought by her father during the first years. Already after two years she won the 1st prize in the national competition “Jugend musiziert”, where in the following years she won 13 1st prizes overall. Other significant rewards were the “Concert-Prize” in the International Piano Competition FLAME 2005 in Paris and the 1st prize in the Glière-Competition in Germany.
Lydia studied at the University for Music and Performing Arts of Munich with Prof. K.-H. Mrongovius and Prof. Michael Schäfer, where she obtained the Artistic Diploma in 2006 and the Concert Diploma (M.A.) in 2008. Significant influence on her musical development was a one year scholarship at the prestigious Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris in the class of Michel Beroff. In 2010 she finishes the postgraduate course at the Music University in Graz where she was a student of the famous Austrian concert pianist Prof. Markus Schirmer.
In addition, she attended masterclasses with András Schiff, Jacques Rouvier, Joaquin Soriano, Mikhail Vosskressenky, Pascal Devoyon, Bernard Ringeissen and Ludwig Hofmann.
Lydia received scholarships from “Jürgen Ponto Stiftung”, “Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben” and Giesecke & Devrient, combined with a CD recording in 2004. In 2006 she was selected to participate in the official CD recording “Young German Pianists” of the University for Music of Munich.
Lydia is frequently invited at festivals such as “Musique au coeur des Barronies” in France, or the “Festwochen Gmunden” in Austria.
In 2009 she was invited to perform her first concert tour in China. Followed by a big media attention (Press, Radio, Television) she performed five recitals in the Provinces of Yunnan, Guangxi and Hunan. Titulated by the local media as the “German Piano Princess” she also held two masterclasses in Hengyang and Chenzhou.
Inspired by her interest in foreign languages and cultures, Lydia’s repertoire includes recital programs like “Sonatas and Folklore”, “Music of the North” or “With Debussy around the World”.
